My favorite is my late grandmother’s peanut butter rice krispy treats topped with chocolate butterscotch. (I thought they were her unique recipe until I saw the recipe once on a box – I think they called them scotcheroos.) In any case, we always knew Christmas was truly under way when she arrived at the house with a tin of those.

There is much to be said for the ‘overly alcholic’ fruitcake. It has so many uses.
Recently I have converted to extra strong (taste) gingerbread cookies. Unfortuneately for my teath our daughter tried the to make it her first time from my wife’s gluten free recipe. Its hard to see level of doneness with dark batter. And the finished product was impossibly hard to break without power tools. Gone are the days of gingerbread houses. We’re making skyscrapers with ours.
I am surprised to not see a mug of cinnamon kissed home made hot chocolate here.
